Default What do you think about future of Gw(month pay thing)

So i was asking my self is Gw in future going to stop to be free MMORPG and we will start to pay monthly(like WoW).
What you think about it?

I think that it wont be monthly paying but it will be some special features(like now--->extra slots,wpns,skills...).
I buyed Gw(all 3 chapters) becouse is very good and free MMORPG without monthly paying

So let s hear what do you think

I agree, the non monthly paying thing sets it apart from most of the other games and makes it more appealing to other gamers, it'd be a shame to add a fee to play a game.

I would NOT play. One reason why I play GW is because it is free.

This was done already. No one is willing to pay monthly for this game.

if guild wars had a montly fee it would not be worth it, pay to play mmos have many times more content the guild wars does, but thats because guild wars is made to be that way. the game basicly costs the same amount as any single player pc or console game, and that price catagory it gives a pretty good amount of content.

For the gamee to be worth a montlhy fee it would be changed so much that it would not be guild wars anymore

This discussion is pointless.

Has A-Net hinted that they are moving to a subscription fee business model? Nope! Until they do, what's the point of discussing it. While we're at it let's discuss our feelings about A-Net adding giant pink elephants to pre-searing or a possible merger with Microsoft.

This thread will be closed shortly. There is no point to asking this question. There have been no announcements that they plan to go to Pay to Play.

Unless they come up with another source of money, they will have to.
Its very very difficult for them to add things and mantain the game with only 50 dollars per user.
Its a FACT, monthly fee is what gives money, and not games payed once.
Now you know why they dont add all the things we want, like incriptions at the other chapters, because they need people to buy Nightfall. Do you think people work for free? These things costs

Remember that Ncsoft had a 43% decrease at their profits this year (they said that it was because that "new game" Assault something, i belive it was mantaining GW), so they NEED to get this money back or it will be the end of Guild Wars.

You should get used to the idea... but lets see

Honestly, I believe you would find most GW players would simply move to WoW if they started charging a fee. Most "casual" players would simply find an offline RPG or a no-fee online PvP game.

I pay the monthly fee for WoW. I have for the last 6 months. I have a lvl 17 Warlock. I play Guild Wars. If GW had a monthly fee I would stop paying for WoW.

Guild Wars makes their money by being the no-monthly fee MMORPG

Add monthly fees, and their competitive edge is gone.

Don't believe me? Look in any issue of PC Gamer with Guild Wars in it... 99% of the references include something about the lack of monthly fees. It's their selling point.

ArenaNet would lose a good portion of their playerbase if they instated monthly fees. They aren't THAT stupid.

Giant pink elephants in pre-searing? Woo hoo! When are they coming?
I'm so excited!!!! Do you think they'll make pink elephant mini-pets?

Oh, sorry. That's a topic about something else that'll never happen.
